The Department of Biochemistry, a division of Institute of Laboratory Medicine in Kovai Medical Center and Hospital is providing a routine diagnostic service to patients. The department is effectively managed by well qualified Biochemists carrying out average 5000 tests per day by applying and adopting cutting – edge technologies.
State of the Art equipments like fully automated chemistry and Immunology integrated analyser Cobas 6000, chemistry analyser Integra 400 plus, Hormonal and Immunology analyser E411, Blood gas analyser b221, Electrolyte analyser, Abbott Architect Drug analyser, Plasma Protein and Hemoglobin Electrophoresis apparatus, coagulation analyser, osmometer and refrigerated centrifuge are available with the department of Biochemistry.
- By applying the above instruments estimation of all Clinical chemistry parameters, Hormones and Immunology parameters, Drugs and Tumor markers, Plasma Protein fractions and various type of Hemoglobins to diagnose Haematology disorders are carriedout.
- Quantitation of 24 hours and spot urine chemistry parameters are estimated. Hereditary disorders like Inborn errors of metabolism are carried out.
- Quality Control (QC) and Quality assurance (QA) are strictly implemented and authenticated by reproducible results from other Indian and International Accredited Laboratories.
